Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for federal hardware and software systems during weekend shifts.
- Monitor and maintain the integrity of local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).
- Ensure compliance with federal information security regulations and VA cybersecurity policies.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and system configurations in the VA IT ticketing system.
- Perform routine system backups and updates to prevent data loss and downtime.
- Assist federal staff with password resets, account access, and software installation.
- Respond to emergency IT alerts and resolve critical incidents within established service level agreements.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; OR a combination of education and experience totaling 4 years.
- Experience supporting federal or government agencies (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, firewall management, and basic hardware troubleshooting.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
- Must be available to work rotating weekends (Saturday and Sunday) as required.
