Responsibilities
- System Monitoring: Proactively monitor federal network infrastructure, servers, and applications during weekend shifts to ensure 99.9% uptime and operational continuity.
- Ticket Resolution: Prioritize and resolve Level 2/3 IT support tickets submitted by federal employees, focusing on remote access, software installation, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Enforce federal security protocols and monitor system logs for anomalies, ensuring compliance with OMB and VA security policies.
- Incident Management: Lead the response and recovery process for weekend system outages, coordinating with on-call teams if escalation is required.
- Data Integrity: Perform routine data backups and integrity checks on critical federal databases outside of peak business hours.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of all system changes, incidents, and resolutions in accordance with federal record-keeping standards.
- User Training: Conduct brief remote training sessions for federal staff on new software releases or security best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Clearance: Active Secret Security Clearance or willingness to undergo a federal background investigation.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in federal IT support or a similar government contracting environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, VPN technologies, and remote diagnostic tools.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical personnel.
- Reliability: Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines during non-standard hours (Weekend Shift).
- Compliance: Deep understanding of FedRAMP, NIST, and FISMA security frameworks.
