Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of federal pension applications, ensuring compliance with OPM regulations and agency policies.
- Calculate and verify pension benefits, annuities, and survivor benefits with 100% accuracy.
- Provide expert guidance and counseling to federal employees regarding retirement eligibility and pension options.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records for all pension and benefits files in compliance with privacy laws.
- Investigate and resolve complex pension inquiries and discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless integration of pension data systems.
- Participate in the annual federal benefits enrollment drives and pension plan updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal benefits administration, HR, or pension management.
- Deep knowledge of FERS (Federal Employees Retirement System) and CSRS (Civil Service Retirement System) plans.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to specific cases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for advising employees and documenting processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and federal HR software systems.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
