Responsibilities
- Manage and administer federal pension plans (CSRS and FERS), ensuring accurate calculations and timely processing.
- Interpret and apply Office of Personnel Management (OPM) guidelines to resolve complex retirement inquiries.
- Conduct detailed benefit counseling sessions for federal employees to explain pension options and survivor benefits.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive personnel and financial records in compliance with federal privacy laws.
- Collaborate with HR and legal teams to ensure all pension documentation adheres to current regulatory standards.
- Prepare and audit monthly pension reports and reconciliation statements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in federal retirement administration or pension plan management.
- Strong working knowledge of FERS, CSRS, and Thrift Savings Plans (TSP).
- Proficiency in federal HR software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect discrepancies in data.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation and security clearance.
