Responsibilities
- Calculate and verify pension benefits, annuities, and survivor benefits in strict accordance with federal statutes and OPM regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of retirement applications to ensure all documentation meets eligibility criteria.
- Provide exceptional customer service to federal employees and retirees, answering complex questions regarding pension eligibility and vesting.
- Analyze payroll data and actuarial reports to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline pension processing workflows and improve system efficiency.
- Stay updated on changes in federal retirement laws, ensuring the organization remains compliant.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience with federal retirement systems, such as FERS or CSRS, is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client-facing interactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and pension administration software.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial calculations.
