Responsibilities
- Administer and oversee federal pension plan compliance under ERISA and IRS regulations
- Conduct complex benefit calculations and financial statement audits for multi-employer plans
- Investigate and resolve pension-related complaints and fiduciary breaches
- Develop and implement regulatory guidance for plan sponsors and administrators
- Collaborate with DOJ on enforcement actions against non-compliant entities
- Train stakeholders on pension plan governance and reporting requirements
- Monitor legislative changes and update compliance protocols accordingly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in pension plan administration or ERISA compliance
- SPBC (Pension Plan Compliance Specialist) or CEBS certification preferred
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS Code 401(a), and DOL regulations
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Alight)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in financial statement auditing
- Ability to handle high-stakes investigations and enforcement documentation
- Active federal security clearance or ability to obtain one
