Responsibilities
- Analyze federal employee pension applications to determine eligibility and calculate retirement benefits according to OPM guidelines.
- Ensure strict compliance with the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Social Security regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of retirement packages to mitigate financial risks for the agency and the employee.
- Provide expert guidance and counseling to federal staff regarding retirement options, survivor benefits, and health insurance.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all pension transactions and employee data.
- Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments to resolve complex pension discrepancies and inquiries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, retirement planning, or federal human resources.
- Deep understanding of FERS, CSRS, and Social Security retirement systems is mandatory.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client-facing interactions.
- Ability to pass a federal background check and security clearance.
