Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently during construction projects
- Assist in stormwater management, erosion control, and environmental compliance initiatives
- Conduct site inspections and document project progress with digital reporting tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate work schedules and resource allocation
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean, organized job sites
- Support emergency response operations during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years of construction or maintenance experience
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour Construction certification preferred (training provided)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic proficiency with hand/power tools and light equipment operation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and emergency call-outs
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
