Responsibilities
- Operate light to heavy construction equipment, including dump trucks, pickups, and backhoes.
- Perform manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, and hauling materials.
- Assist with road maintenance, including pothole repair and pavement marking.
- Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of public facilities and right-of-ways.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather.
- Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and departmental policies.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow crew members.
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia Class C Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment is a plus.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and snow.
- Physical stamina and dexterity required for manual labor.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
