Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and paving operations.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery such as dump trucks, loaders, and jackhammers under supervision.
- Assist with snow removal, road repair, and maintenance of public parks and green spaces.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations to ensure a hazard-free work environment.
- Respond to emergency public works requests and assist in disaster recovery efforts when necessary.
- Perform general cleaning and upkeep of work sites, tools, and vehicles.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Massachusetts Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a strong plus but not always required for entry-level labor positions.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50+ lbs) repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Must possess the physical stamina to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is preferred.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening test.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
