Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers, graders) for construction projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Maintain city infrastructure: roads, sidewalks, drainage systems, and green spaces
- Adhere to strict OSHA safety protocols during all operations
- Assist in emergency response for weather-related incidents (storms, floods)
- Complete daily equipment maintenance and inspection reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale municipal projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather
- OSHA 10-hour Construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
