Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including digging, lifting, and moving construction materials (concrete, asphalt, soil)
- Operate and maintain light machinery (hand tools, power tools, dump trucks)
- Assist in road maintenance, sidewalk repairs, and drainage system installations
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city maintenance standards
- Participate in emergency response during weather-related infrastructure events
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works projects
- Document daily activities and material usage in digital tracking systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year construction/public works labor experience
- Valid Arizona driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of traffic control setup and safety signage
- Experience operating heavy equipment (bobcats, trenchers) preferred
- Pass pre-employment background check and physical fitness assessment
