Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex GIS databases and spatial data models to support county operations.
- Create high-quality cartographic products, maps, and interactive web applications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct spatial analysis and statistical modeling to identify trends and support policy decisions.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, and public health officials to integrate GIS solutions into daily workflows.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with county data governance standards.
- Train and mentor junior staff on GIS software and methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in GIS analysis, database management, or cartography.
- Proficiency in Esri ArcGIS Suite (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server) and SQL databases.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or JavaScript for data automation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex spatial data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to obtain a valid driver’s license and pass a background check.
