Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain geodatabases and spatial data infrastructure to support transportation planning initiatives.
- Conduct complex spatial analyses and create high-quality cartographic products and visualizations for executive briefings.
- Integrate disparate data sources to support decision-making processes for the Department of Transportation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, planners, and external stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and project success.
- Perform quality assurance on spatial datasets to ensure compliance with federal and state standards.
- Train and mentor junior staff members on GIS software and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience in GIS analysis, preferably within a government or transportation sector.
- Proficient in Esri ArcGIS suite (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro) and QGIS.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for data automation.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid Class C Louisiana Driver’s License required.
- Ability to travel to various project sites throughout the region.
