Responsibilities
- Manage Spatial Data: Oversee the collection, storage, and maintenance of geospatial datasets to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Map Production: Design and produce high-quality maps and visualizations using ArcGIS and related software for internal and external stakeholders.
- Data Analysis: Perform complex spatial analyses to support planning, zoning, and emergency response initiatives.
- System Support: Troubleshoot and maintain GIS hardware and software systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Project Collaboration: Work closely with urban planners, engineers, and IT staff to integrate GIS data into broader county projects.
- Training & Guidance: Provide technical support and training to county staff regarding GIS tools and best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and SQL database management.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of FME, Python scripting, or similar data transformation tools.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- License: Valid Arizona driver’s license may be required for fieldwork.
