Responsibilities
- Perform complex spatial analysis and cartographic production using ArcGIS and other industry-standard software.
- Maintain and update the county’s geographic information systems databases to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with engineering and planning departments to convert technical data into user-friendly maps and visualizations.
- Assist in the implementation of new GIS technologies and train department staff on software usage.
- Conduct field surveys and data collection to support GIS data acquisition efforts.
- Prepare detailed reports and technical documentation related to mapping projects.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience with ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro, including geoprocessing tools.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and database management principles.
- Experience with remote sensing data and LiDAR processing is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced government environment.
