Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Management: Lead the full project lifecycle from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure of IT infrastructure and software implementation projects.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for City department stakeholders, translating technical requirements into actionable project plans.
- Resource Allocation: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and contractors, to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all projects adhere to city policies, state regulations, and industry best practices (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including status reports, requirements traceability matrices, and post-mortem analyses.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the public sector or a large enterprise environment.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM certification is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Driving Record: A valid California driver’s license and acceptable driving record may be required for field visits.
