We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Senior Systems Administrator to join the critical infrastructure team at the New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT).

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure for NYC government systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Oversee server maintenance, patch management, and high-availability configurations across hybrid on-premise and cloud environments.
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring strict compliance with NIST standards, FISMA, and NYC data privacy laws.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems and drive cloud migration strategies (AWS/Azure).
- Provide Tier 3 technical support and mentor junior administrators to foster professional growth.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and disaster recovery planning to protect critical city data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration within a large-scale enterprise or government environment.
- Certifications such as CCNP, AWS Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Linux, Windows Server, virtualization technologies, and Active Directory.
- Strong understanding of network security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
