Responsibilities
- Monitor federal, state, and local legislation affecting Charlotte's municipal operations
- Develop policy recommendations aligned with city council priorities
- Coordinate interdepartmental responses to regulatory changes
- Manage stakeholder relationships with government agencies and community organizations
- Prepare legislative testimony and public hearing presentations
- Analyze budgetary impacts of proposed legislation
- Track grant opportunities and administer compliance reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 3+ years of government relations or policy experience
- Deep knowledge of North Carolina state and local government structures
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in data analysis and policy research methodologies
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Experience with public meeting facilitation
- Certification in Public Administration (CPM) preferred
