Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of public facilities, parks, and streets within the Boston metropolitan area.
- Operate light and heavy machinery and vehicles as required for municipal projects (e.g., snow removal, debris hauling).
- Monitor site safety protocols and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal government regulations.
- Interact with the public in a professional manner, providing information and assistance during city events or maintenance operations.
- Perform general labor tasks including digging, lifting, and loading materials as needed for infrastructure projects.
- Report any hazardous conditions, safety violations, or equipment malfunctions immediately to the site supervisor.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or hold valid permanent residency status (government security clearance requirements).
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Class C Massachusetts Driverβs License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a mandatory background check and drug screening.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a public works environment.
