Responsibilities
- Network Administration: Manage, monitor, and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) to ensure optimal performance.
- System Security: Implement and enforce security protocols to protect computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats.
- Technical Support: Provide Tier 2 technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues across various government departments.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee server maintenance, patch management, and system backups to ensure business continuity.
- Compliance Reporting: Assist in ensuring compliance with federal and state IT policies, including FISMA and NIST standards.
- Vendor Coordination: Communicate with external vendors for hardware procurement and service maintenance.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or systems engineering.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) are highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, and Cisco networking equipment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with non-technical staff and leadership.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues efficiently.
