Role Overview:
As a Government IT Systems Administrator, you will be the backbone of our IT operations, managing servers, networks, and security protocols to ensure uninterrupted public services.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and network segments.
- Ensure data integrity and security by implementing strict cybersecurity protocols and access controls.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for internal staff and external government agencies.
- Perform regular system updates, patch management, and hardware maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade systems and improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to minimize downtime.
- Document all system configurations, changes, and incidents accurately.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in IT systems administration, preferably within a government or public sector environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with network security standards, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to obtain a government security clearance (if applicable).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with non-technical stakeholders.
