Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of city streets, sidewalks, drainage systems, and public right-of-ways.
- Enforce local, state, and federal codes and regulations regarding public works.
- Document findings, take photographs, and prepare detailed inspection reports.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and the public to resolve infrastructure issues.
- Monitor construction sites to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Recommend necessary repairs or upgrades to the infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections and violations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Louisiana Driver’s License and a good driving record are mandatory.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public works, construction inspection, or civil engineering.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and local building codes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Proficient in using inspection software and basic computer applications.
