Responsibilities
- Process and review pension benefit applications, retirement requests, and survivor claims with high accuracy.
- Manage and maintain confidential employee records and pension fund data within the government database.
- Provide exceptional customer service to retirees and beneficiaries, resolving inquiries regarding benefits and eligibility.
- Conduct audits of pension records to ensure compliance with federal and state government regulations.
- Collaborate with the finance department to reconcile monthly pension disbursements.
- Prepare and mail benefit statements, contribution reports, and legal correspondence.
- Stay updated on changes in government pension laws and update internal processes accordingly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration preferred.
- Previous experience in a government, financial services, or pension administration role is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and government-specific software systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to detect errors in complex financial data.
- Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating schedule.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with diverse populations.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality.
