Responsibilities
- Manage and administer municipal pension fund portfolios in compliance with ERISA and state regulations
- Analyze investment performance, risk metrics, and actuarial projections
- Develop and implement strategic funding strategies for long-term pension sustainability
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports for City Council and oversight committees
- Collaborate with external auditors and investment consultants during annual reviews
- Advise leadership on pension policy changes and legislative impacts
- Maintain accurate participant records and benefit calculations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension fund administration or public finance experience
- Strong knowledge of government pension regulations (ERISA, GASB 67/68)
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling software and Excel
- CFA or CPM certification highly desirable
- Experience with municipal bond investments and portfolio diversification
- Proven ability to present complex financial data to non-technical stakeholders
- Valid New Mexico driver's license
