Responsibilities
- Monitor local public health trends and analyze data to identify emerging issues within Long Beach.
- Coordinate with state and federal agencies to ensure compliance with California health codes and regulations.
- Develop and distribute educational materials to promote community wellness and disease prevention.
- Investigate and report on health hazards and environmental concerns in accordance with city protocols.
- Conduct health screenings and support outreach programs for at-risk populations.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for city leadership and the public.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related scientific field is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a public health or government setting.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal health laws and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and public health database management software.
