Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate public records in strict accordance with state and federal government regulations.
- Process and respond to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests efficiently and accurately.
- Perform data entry and digitization of historical documents to improve accessibility.
- Assist the public with inquiries regarding municipal policies, procedures, and filing status.
- Ensure strict adherence to data privacy laws and confidentiality standards.
- Coordinate with department heads to streamline filing systems and improve organizational efficiency.
- Conduct regular audits of records to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, History, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working in a government, municipal, or public records environment is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and government database management software.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with the public and staff.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines during peak processing times.
