Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for 150+ municipal employees using SAP HR system
- Ensure compliance with Virginia state labor regulations and federal FLSA standards
- Manage employee records and benefits enrollment through secure government portals
- Coordinate with finance department for accurate budget reconciliation
- Respond to employee inquiries within 24-hour SLA timeframe
- Prepare weekly payroll reports for city council review
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee data
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years government payroll processing experience
- Proficiency in SAP HR or comparable public sector HRIS systems
- Active Virginia Notary Public commission preferred
- Knowledge of Virginia state payroll tax regulations
- Associate's degree in Public Administration or related field
- Ability to obtain government security clearance (Tier 3)
- Experience with multi-location payroll coordination
- Strong attention to detail with zero-error tolerance
