Responsibilities
- Research & Strategy: Conduct in-depth research to identify federal, state, and private funding opportunities that align with our strategic goals.
- Proposal Development: Write clear, persuasive grant proposals and narrative reports that effectively communicate the impact of our programs.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with program staff and executive leadership to gather necessary data and refine project goals.
- Grant Management: Track deadlines, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with funder requirements throughout the lifecycle of each grant.
- Database Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of funding sources, deadlines, and submission history in our grant management software.
- Outreach: Cultivate relationships with potential donors and foundation representatives to build a pipeline for future support.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Policy, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional grant writing experience, specifically within the non-profit or social services sector.
- Portfolio: A portfolio of successfully funded proposals is mandatory.
- Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software (e.g., Fluxx, Blackbaud, or similar).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into compelling stories.
- Organization: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
