Responsibilities
- Research & Identification: Identify and research potential grant opportunities from federal, state, and private foundations that align with the Foundation's strategic priorities.
- Proposal Development: Write clear, concise, and compelling grant proposals, including executive summaries, needs assessments, project budgets, and narratives.
- Compliance Management: Ensure all grant applications meet strict deadlines and adhere to the specific guidelines and requirements of various funding agencies.
- Collaboration: Partner with program officers and executive leadership to gather necessary data and stories to strengthen funding requests.
- Reporting: Draft and submit required narrative and financial reports to funders to ensure continued funding and maintain strong relationships.
- Calendar Management: Maintain a comprehensive calendar of upcoming deadlines and track submission status for all active applications.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, proposal development, or nonprofit fundraising.
- Track Record: Demonstrated history of successful grant acquisition and a portfolio of secured funding.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Writing Skills: Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences (technical vs. layperson).
- Research Skills: Proficient in conducting research using tools like Foundation Directory Online or similar databases.
- Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM or grant management software is a plus.
- Work Style: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
