Responsibilities
- Research & Strategy: Conduct comprehensive research to identify and evaluate potential funding opportunities from federal, state, and private sources relevant to the Laredo region.
- Proposal Development: Write clear, persuasive, and grammatically flawless grant proposals, including executive summaries, needs assessments, and budgets.
- Donor Relations: Cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors by tailoring communications to meet their specific interests and criteria.
- Compliance & Reporting: Manage the full lifecycle of grants, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines, compliance requirements, and timely submission of progress and final reports.
- Collaboration: Work closely with program staff and executive leadership to gather accurate data and narrative content for submissions.
- Portfolio Management: Maintain an organized database of all grants, applications, and funding calendars to ensure no opportunity is missed.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in grant writing, fundraising, or non-profit development.
- Portfolio: Demonstrable portfolio of successful grant proposals and funding secured.
- Research Skills: Excellent ability to locate and analyze funding databases and government regulations.
- Writing Skills: Exceptional command of the English language with a focus on clarity, tone, and persuasion.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software (e.g., Foundant, Blackbaud) is preferred.
