Responsibilities

  • Research & Identification: Conduct in-depth research to identify federal, state, and private foundation funding opportunities aligned with our organizational mission.
  • Proposal Development: Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and organizational backgrounds, meeting strict deadlines.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with program staff and leadership to gather data, interview subject matter experts, and ensure accurate reflection of program impacts in written materials.
  • Grant Management: Maintain accurate records of all grant submissions, track deadlines, and monitor award notifications and compliance requirements.
  • Reporting: Draft required reports and progress updates for current funders to maintain strong relationships and ensure continued funding.
  • Database Maintenance: Manage and update our grants database and CRM to ensure data integrity and efficient reporting.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional grant writing experience, preferably within the non-profit or public sector.
  • Writing Skills: Exceptional writing and editing skills with a proven track record of securing funding from diverse sources (government, private foundations, corporations).
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of the San Antonio non-profit landscape and familiarity with federal grant programs (e.g., HUD, HHS) is highly desirable.
