Responsibilities
- Maintain and optimize electronic health record systems (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA and VA regulations
- Oversee health data integrity through quality control audits and system validation
- Implement and manage health information policies and procedures
- Train staff on health information management best practices and new technologies
- Coordinate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation and coding
- Lead system upgrades and migrations for health information platforms
- Conduct risk assessments for health data security and privacy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years of EHR system management experience
- Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA and federal health information regulations
- Experience with VA VistA or similar federal health IT systems preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances
