Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate court records, including civil, criminal, and probate dockets.
- Receive, index, and file legal documents, petitions, and motions with extreme precision and adherence to deadlines.
- Interact professionally and courteously with attorneys, litigants, judges, and the general public to provide information and resolve inquiries.
- Process financial transactions, including accepting filing fees, service of process fees, and maintaining precise cash drawers.
- Assist judges and court staff with daily administrative tasks, scheduling, and special projects.
- Ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal court regulations and filing requirements.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice, or Public Administration is a strong plus.
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with court management software (e.g., PACE, Odyssey) is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of integrity and discretion.
- Previous experience in a legal or government administrative environment is highly preferred.
