Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Operate CAD/RMS systems to dispatch police units efficiently
- Maintain accurate radio communication protocols during critical incidents
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers in emergency situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during large-scale events
- Document all call activities and incident reports with meticulous detail
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain certification standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum 60 WPM typing certification
- Experience in high-pressure customer service or emergency communications
- Ability to pass extensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Valid California driver's license
- Proficiency with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Strong multitasking and decision-making abilities under stress
- Fluency in English (Spanish bilingualism highly valued)
