Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls with exceptional speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police units and emergency services via radio/computer systems
- Maintain detailed call logs and CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) records
- Operate multi-channel communication systems during critical incidents
- Coordinate with other agencies (EMS, Fire, FBI) during emergencies
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical crises
- Execute evacuation procedures during hazardous situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- Valid Alaska driver's license with clean record
- Typing speed ≥ 40 WPM (test required)
- Ability to pass extensive background check and drug screening
- US citizenship or legal residency status
- Ability to work rotating shifts (nights/weekends/holidays)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer navigation
- Minimum 18 years of age
