Responsibilities
- Execute road construction, bridge maintenance, and sewer system repairs
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, and asphalt pavers
- Perform concrete work including pouring, finishing, and demolition
- Conduct site preparation, grading, and earthmoving operations
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental compliance standards
- Maintain accurate project documentation and equipment logs
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of public works or heavy construction experience
- Valid Michigan Driver's License and CDL Class A/B preferred
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (excavators, dozers, loaders)
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights/weekends
- Basic blueprint reading and measurement skills
