Responsibilities
- Construct, maintain, and repair city infrastructure including roads, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, dump trucks) with precision and safety compliance
- Perform manual labor including excavation, concrete pouring, and material handling
- Adhere to OSHA standards and maintain a hazard-free work environment
- Collaborate with engineering teams on large-scale municipal projects
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on public assets
- Document project progress and submit daily activity reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school certification preferred
- Valid Class B CDL license with airbrakes endorsement
- Minimum 2 years construction/public works experience
- OSHA 10/30 certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and heavy equipment operation
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and surveying principles
