Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, rollers) with precision and safety protocols
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for infrastructure projects
- Install/maintain traffic control devices and construction signage per MUTCD standards
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance tasks
- Assist in asphalt/concrete pouring, compaction, and finishing operations
- Document daily progress and material usage via digital reporting systems
- Adhere to OSHA and City safety standards at all job sites
Qualifications
- Valid Arizona Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification (or obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds regularly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Basic understanding of construction blueprints and grade stakes
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends for emergency projects
