Responsibilities
- Perform heavy construction tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks, rollers) with precision
- Maintain public roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Assist in emergency infrastructure repairs during extreme weather
- Collaborate with engineering teams on complex urban projects
- Document daily operations and equipment maintenance logs
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of public works or heavy construction experience
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 30-hour Construction certification required
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong knowledge of traffic control and safety signage
- Experience operating CAT equipment and trenchers
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent required
