Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, dirt moving, and asphalt paving.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols.
- Assist in traffic control and flagging operations during road work.
- Clear debris and maintain clean work zones to ensure safety.
- Communicate effectively with foremen, engineers, and fellow crew members.
- Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies from trucks.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid California Class C Driver’s License.
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required.
- Experience with public works, construction, or general labor is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and safety signage.
