As a Public Works Laborer, you will work alongside skilled professionals in a variety of environments. From street maintenance to facility upkeep, your efforts will directly improve the quality of life for local residents.
Responsibilities
- Perform general manual labor duties including cleaning, loading, and unloading materials.
- Assist in paving, patching, and repairing roads, sidewalks, and curbs.
- Operate light equipment such as jackhammers, compressors, and sweepers under supervision.
- Maintain public parks, grounds, and landscaping areas to ensure safety and aesthetics.
- Participate in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather.
- Load and unload waste management vehicles and assist with recycling programs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift, carry, and push objects weighing 50+ pounds repeatedly.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic math skills for measuring and estimating materials.
- Strong attention to safety protocols and regulations.
