Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, backhoes, and road rollers safely and efficiently.
- Perform manual labor tasks including digging, hauling, grading, and concrete pouring.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of street signs, guardrails, and traffic signals.
- Clear debris, snow, and ice from public roads and sidewalks during inclement weather.
- Load and unload construction materials and equipment from trucks to job sites.
- Ensure all work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members to coordinate daily tasks.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Class C Louisiana Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in extreme heat or cold.
- Previous experience in construction, public works, or general labor is highly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety equipment.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
