Responsibilities
- Execute heavy civil construction projects including road maintenance, drainage systems, and utility installations
- Operate heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, graders) and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Perform asphalt/concrete repairs, erosion control, and landscape infrastructure work
- Adhere to OSHA standards, city codes, and environmental protocols for all operations
- Conduct site inspections, document progress, and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement initiatives
- Participate in emergency response for weather-related public works incidents
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation and civil construction experience
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- OSHA 10/30 certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in extreme weather
- Knowledge of AZDOT specifications and municipal infrastructure standards
- Pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check
- Experience with GIS mapping and infrastructure asset management preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends for critical projects
