Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, loaders, and asphalt pavers under certified supervision
- Perform manual labor tasks including trenching, backfilling, and material handling
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and maintain site cleanliness protocols
- Assist in traffic control and flagging operations during road construction
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex municipal projects
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Document daily progress and material usage using digital reporting tools
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of public works or heavy construction experience
- Valid Washington State Driver's Class A or B CDL license
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and material specifications
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Experience with municipal permitting processes preferred
