Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, graders) for infrastructure construction
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and asphalt paving
- Conduct routine maintenance on public facilities and drainage systems
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA safety protocols and environmental standards
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events
- Collaborate with engineers and skilled trades on complex projects
- Document daily progress and material usage reports
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of construction or public works experience
- Valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License (Class A/B preferred)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and survey equipment
- Clean driving record and no felony convictions
