Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair streets, roads, and highways to ensure safe travel conditions.
- Operate heavy machinery such as dump trucks, graders, and snowplows safely and efficiently.
- Install, repair, and maintain traffic signs, signals, and pavement markings.
- Perform snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather to maintain public safety.
- Inspect public works facilities and equipment for safety and functionality.
- Assist in the construction and repair of drainage systems, curbs, and sidewalks.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests from the public and internal departments.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred; on-the-job training provided for qualified candidates.
- Physically fit and able to perform heavy labor in various weather conditions.
- Ability to operate standard and heavy construction equipment.
- Strong commitment to public service and adherence to safety protocols.
- Basic knowledge of road maintenance practices is a plus.
