Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and construction on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate and maintain heavy municipal equipment, including dump trucks, loaders, and asphalt pavers.
- Respond to emergency calls regarding road conditions, potholes, and fallen trees during inclement weather.
- Sweep streets and maintain public right-of-ways to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist in the installation and repair of traffic signs, guardrails, and pavement markings.
- Collaborate with other city departments to coordinate large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations while working in potentially hazardous environments.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Ohio Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
- Previous experience in public works, landscaping, or general maintenance is highly desirable.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and operating heavy machinery.
- Basic knowledge of automotive and construction equipment is a plus.
- Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and background check.
