Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the county's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring 99.9% uptime.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support to county staff, resolving complex hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Implement and monitor robust security protocols to protect sensitive government data and ensure compliance with state and federal standards.
- Perform routine system upgrades, patch management, and hardware installations across multiple departments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and optimize IT solutions that improve operational workflows.
- Document technical procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting guides for knowledge sharing.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent industry certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in network administration, systems administration, or IT support.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical users and stakeholders.
