Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the City's server infrastructure, including Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot network devices, switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Monitor system performance and implement proactive maintenance schedules to prevent downtime.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal data security regulations and policies.
- Provide Level 2/3 technical support and guidance to internal staff regarding infrastructure issues.
- Document infrastructure configurations and maintain accurate technical records.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration or system administration.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or CCNA are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by system maintenance windows.
